Why “where?” matters
Question words turn a child from an answerer into an asker — and 'where' is the friendliest one to start with because hiding games make it irresistible. A child who asks 'where's the cow?' is doing something remarkable: using language to get information, not just things. These three toys are built for hiding, finding and naming — hundreds of gentle 'where' moments with a giggle at the end of each one.
How to teach it — 4 simple steps

Hide a puzzle piece or animal under a cup while your child watches. Ask 'WHERE'S the cow?' with big wondering eyes.

Pause, hunt together, then celebrate the find: 'THERE it is!' — where and there are a perfect pair.

Take turns hiding. When they hide something, ask them 'where is it?' and let them enjoy knowing the answer.

Ask 'where's the doggy?' and lift the little roofs one by one — finding him IN a house teaches 'where' and 'in' together.
