Why “go” matters
'Go' is a tiny word with a huge payoff: it makes things HAPPEN. Cars zoom, poppers pop, parents run. The famous 'Ready, set, ...' routine is beloved by speech pathologists because after a few rounds, children can't resist filling in the blank. These three toys all have irresistible 'launch moments' that beg for a 'GO!'
How to teach it — 4 simple steps
- 1
Hold the toy still and build suspense: 'Reeeady... seeeet...' — then pause.

Wait for any signal — a bounce, a squeal, an attempt at 'go' — before releasing.

Shout 'GO!' together as the toy takes off. Make it the most exciting word in the house.
- 4
Once 'go' is easy, add words: 'go fast', 'go car', 'ready set go!'
